Web Designing Presentation

I don’t know whether I did well or not, but the thing is I finally managed to overcome my fear or nervousness during the presentation.

Usually, I have no self-confidence in all presentations, I was afraid of how people would think of me, felt uneasy during the presentation, and etc. To sum it up, I was being too self-conscious.

All the while in my life, I have a very low self-esteem and a very low self-confidence. But somehow, I stumbled in one of the website and read about it. From there, I kept telling myself stop bothering about how people might think about me.

Anyway, one day I had to do a presentation in a Families class and during that presentation, all of sudden, I felt I was being self-conscious, I was half concious about myself. All my thoughts at that time were like keep thinking about the presentation and I can like just keep talking and talking and talking.

Just like what I did today! But of course it’s not as good as others, but all I know is that I’ve done my very best..

Plagiarism

As the matter of fact, I first heard the word plagiarism is when I first started CIMP. I do realised the fact that we should give credit to people when we used their ideas. But I never thought that we have to make citations, do a reference list and so on just to get ourselves free from plagiarising.

Sometimes I’m abit hesistant about whether I plagiarised or not because although the workshop was conducted during the beginning of this year but there are things that I’m still unsure about.

I know that I could ask these questions during the workshop, but those question had never come across to my mind during the workshop. The only time that really comes to my mind is when I faced the problems. That’s the time I’m feeling stucked, that whether I should put this or that..

So to me although plagiarism is very strict in College assignment but I do respect to the people who had the idea from the beginning and give credit to them. But sometimes, I’m still unsure whether I am plagiarising or not..

HTML code

Speaking of today’s web designing class, it reminds me of during my time in secondary school, I learned a basic web designing using HTML code with notepad.

Although I get to learn more things especially when it comes to computer stuff, the course itself was rather plain and simple. What I’ve learned in that class was that creating a very simple web page using the HTML codes provided by the instructor and then try opening it on Internet Explorer to see how it comes out.

That time when I used Notepad and type out the HTML codes, I was thinking how on earth that a person can create a fancy webpages using just by Notepad alone? And then later I found out that the web designers use one program called Microsoft FrontPage.

There could be other programs they used but as far as I know that’s the only web designing software that is capable to do so.

Skype

Personally, I find that this software offers the best calling quality among all. Back in 2-3 years time I tried numerous software offered free from the internet, namely GoogleTalk, MSN, Gizmo, etc.

Although some of these softwares may have improved over the years but still the one that holds the largest popularity is Skype. Nonetheless, Skype has millions of users around the world and it is quite flexible IMO.

I’m saying it’s flexible is because there are some products like Aztech has Skype phone for the market. It enables us to receive and make calls just like a normal landline phone if you were to make VoIP calls. But if you were to make from Skype(They call it SkypeOut)  you will be charged with cheap rates making that the alternative of landline phone calls.

Good day

Today is the due day for the newsletter, and what I see is everyone is late because of the last minute final printing. Everyone here is tensed, rushing for their final hard copy of the newsletter.
Anyway, today is quite a good day for me because my families test went well I’m pretty confident about my test and hopefully I will be able to score well, as well as my newsletter can get good marks.

I don’t dare to put highhopes in it because sometimes if you put too high hopes on the things that you do, but things didn’t go well you will feel more disappointed. So it’s best to keep things as low hope as possible..

Sad news..

A former student from CIMP, has just passed away on last thursday and it’s pretty sad to hear to news when I first heard it.

In my life, I faced a number amount of people passed away including my family. What we can say about life though, it’s really fragile, we can never predict when are we going to die or how are we going to die. The first death that I had to face when I was at very young age. I can’t remember how young I was but I definitely knew that it wasn’t a happy thing to go through with..

As I grow up, I’ve learnt to appreciate what I have in my life and also realised that we just have to enjoy our life to the fullest.

Condolence to the student family..

General Election

The 12th Malaysian General Election just finished, I must say that this time’s election I’m quite satisfied with the people in Malaysia show their dissatisfaction towards the government. There has been too much of corruption going under the table, it’s really a disgrace to our country.

Because of this a lot of investors show no interest in investing into our country. Anyway, with the BN lost 2/3 of the majority seats in the Parliament, the corruption will for sure reduce because the opposition have enough voices to voice out just about anything.

Nevertheless, I’m really interested how the opposition party do their job. And of course I do hope that it will bring some improvement to the Malaysian economy.

Online version of Microsoft Office 2007

Hmm.. Sounds sweet but too bad it only applies to those who have purchased Office 2007. It caters to those office workers who need to access the documents everywhere online.

Because Microsoft knows that most of the computing is done by online. To me it sounds more like the Google Docs, is it the same or what? I think Microsoft is trying to compete with Google though.

Heck, at the end of the day who gets the most popularity depends on how these companies do.

Wish I could get this product but unfortunately its too expensive for us, although there is a Student Edition offered..

Essay writing..

ARGH, yet another OSSLT essay writing test given by Mr.Avila, like what he said it’s not exactly a test but it’s to help us score well in our upcoming OSSLT test.

The second paper, I wasn’t very happy of what I get because the mark has drop from 70 to 60. I mean that’s a pretty bad result, but the third time I told myself ok fine, since I got this mark then I try to use the planning frame to help me construct the essay, just to see what I get.

Frankly speaking, I wasted quite some time on the frame and leave myself just a fraction of time to write the whole essay out. One thing I felt funny was  after spent so much time on the planning what I got was only one-page essay.

I’m not talking about my essay is long enough or not but initially while I was planning out the frame I expect my essay to be at least one and a half-page long. But no, all I got was only one page long! I was laughing at myself why I wrote a page long instead of one and a half-page after spending so much time working on the frame..

Anyway, OSSLT isn’t all about long essay, it’s about literacy.. So yeah, I don’t have to worry about it. haha

OSSLT

It was pretty ok for me during the MOCK test, but a lot of people criticize that the test was a waste of time.. Anyway, what has past is already a past so no turn back.

What I hate the most is that the news essay writing part. The reason is because I can’t seem to get my brain in a writing mode. It took me quite a while to get myself to think of ideas and start writing.

I felt bad for the students who couldn’t finish on time because they had difficulties understanding the questions on the paper. For myself, I too had a bit of hard time understanding American-English language. I’m not sure whether the paper is based on American-English or not but I do feel that the paper was a bit odd in word structures wise.

Maybe because I’m studying the British-English language throughout my life. It’s not that I couldn’t understand the word but the sentence itself was rather different for me to understand..
