So…. I suppose this technology WiMax is going to replace the old wi-fi technology. But one burning question in my mind is that how long it will take for Malaysia have this sevice readily available in almost everywhere? I remembered last two years back I’ve read an article about WiMax is going to implemented in our country but so far I have yet to receive and information about the progress in Malaysia. I think I will switch from wired-connection to wireless which is WiMax because it has greater range covered and able to deliver stable signal to the user.

I’m really looking forward to this service and hopefully it will be useful for my laptops mobility. Anyway, it’s interesting to see how wireless technology grow day by day..

I never liked social network websites as I personally find it a waste of time. I didn’t even bothered looking at who is the CEO or the founder of a website because I’m not really interested in this kind of thing.

But after watching about “60-Minute Facebook” clip I was surprised that the CEO of the Facebook website is only a 23-year-old guy. As I watch it, I really would like to know where he can get those money to build his own company. Anyway, Facebook does really help people to find back long lost friend. That’s undeniable.. But personally I don’t really find having a Facebook account does any good for me.

Hmmm.. forum, is another way for everyone around the world connect together and discuss about something. Well, I’m not sure that forum exist during the web 1.0 era but as far as I know forum is getting popular among the surfers with some particular interest allowing them to have discussion thread.

I first started going to forum was back in year 2004, and it was about an online gaming forum for the clan. As I continue visiting different forums around the internet I slowly discovered that we can use forum to exchange ideas, helping someone who is in trouble, gain our knowledge and etc. Forum is quite useful especially when it has something good to know..

I must admit, I have a 3G phone but I don’t know how to use it. This is actually quite typical among Malaysians although 3G technology has existed few years back according to my knowledge. Until now, I’m still new about 3G technology but I do know what 3G can do for me. Besides video calling, 3G can also be used as surfing the internet using both either a laptop or on the handphone itself. It’s been a long time I wanted to use 3G service but I believe somewhere this year I might start to learn how to use it because I have a 3G-enabled phone but I have yet to use it either on my laptop or on my phone. I’m quite interested in getting to know more about 3G technology but somehow my laziness has gotten into me so I always have the procrastinate attitude in myself.. Anyway, one day for sure I will use the functions in the phone I have to the fullest!

Well, ever since the web 2.0 has appeared a lot of things on the internet has change. It changes the way people express themselves, for example during the web 1.0 “era” or whatever you call it we can’t do video streaming over the web, we didn’t have the website like YouTube for us to post any videos or short clips. But things have changed over the years because of web 2.0, if I’m not mistaken the police from the United States used YouTube to show everyone in the world about one particular person they were hunting for to help their investigation process.

I personally find that quite interesting when I first heard that, I mean I never thought that the police will use YouTube as part of their investigation process. – Recently, I’ve just found out that you can even upload or back-up your files online. It is called online storage, try to have a look at it by clicking here.

When I first started using BitTorrent to download the stuff that I wanted I didn’t know much about this new way of download has its own “rule”.. If I wasn’t mistaken I started use it back in year 2003. – Nonetheless I was frustrated that I couldn’t get my downloads completed after a few attempts, I didn’t realised it was my ISP was doing the nasty things behind of all Streamyx users’ back. Sort of “nasty” due to the reason that whenever we are torrenting we are sucking a huge amount of bandwidth in Malaysia, causing some serious bottlenecks in the traffic. So to prevent that from happening, the biggest ISP in Malaysia TMNet throttled each incoming and outcoming port internationally and leaving the Streamyx users unable to torrent.

Ok, enough about the ISP Malaysia, lets get back to the BitTorrent “rule”.. Torrenting is about sharing and sharing is all about give and take, that was what I’ve read about it from my Magazine. :-) Before that, I never knew about seeders and leechers.. – Nonetheless, after years of stopping the use of torrent recently I had found one torrent client named “Deluge” a client that successfully bypass the throttle and offers a full encryption of the incoming and outcoming data’s.

So now I can torrent happily hehehe.. =D

In 19th century, we don’t have the technology that can help us in our studies and those days were pretty much relying on the library books as their reference. However, as a student of 21st century we have all sorts of advance technology that could help us in our studies. One of them is communication technology, if the teachers use some sort of online softwares such as “Google Documents” and etc. I think the students are able to learn more in an efficient manner and up-to-date information.

Why I’m saying that is because most of the students have at least one computer at home but I do realised that there are some part of the world where one family is unable to afford buying a computer for their kids. But then again, almost every part of this world are using the traditional method for teaching even in here Malaysia.

The video “A Vision of Students Today” and “A Vision of K-12 Students Today” from YouTube, made me realised that actually the facts in it are pretty much true like 76% percent of the teachers never use the technology as a teaching medium. I personally think that, if those technologies are used properly, then a lot of students will get to learn very quickly and like the class because of the habits of getting on the computer almost each and everyday like online, blogging and etc.

Many of us as a student has at least one thumb drive in hand, but I don’t think many of us are making the full use of the thumb drive functionality. I just read an article in CHIP magazine Malaysia which I subscribed, and found that there are many very light and powerful freewares that we can put into our thumb drive not only in thumb drive but also on our PC. For example, FoxIt Reader is a very fast PDF reader compared to Adobe Reader which takes forever to load. To find more portable freewares for your thumb drive click here.

Many people found that Microsoft Vista is too slow and uses too much of RAM resource, driver incompatibility and etc. Actually, from what I’ve heard from my friends they claimed that Ms Vista has lots of bugs which I personally don’t think that’s the case of Ms Vista is not selling well. IMHO, it’s because of the hardware manufacturers are slow on updating their software drivers so that the hardware they manufactured is compatible with Microsoft Vista. It’s just like when Windows XP was really fresh, a lot of people think the OS sucked but after the release of Windows XP SP1, things had change a lot.. Since Ms Vista is still new, I think within 2-4 years time most of us are using Ms Vista.. At the mean time, for those who likes Vista UI here’s the chance. A pack that is created by Mr.Windows X, it basically transforms your Windows XP theme to Windows Vista theme. It does not change your system to Vista but rather it changes the theme and emulates the Vista UI.. click here to find out more.
